Rated voltage and voltage margin

The rated voltage should be higher than the maximum operating voltage of the circuit and a margin of

voltage value in the filtering circuit should not be less than 1.42 times the effective AC value.

Capacity and tolerance range

Accurately calculate capacity based on circuit requirements (such as filtering and decoupling) to avoid excessive

High frequency performance parameters

Temperature resistance range and lifespan

The working temperature should be within the nominal range of the capacitor, and high-temperature 

environments (such as 125 ℃) should use high-temperature resistant and long-life models, and evaluate 

the heat dissipation conditions.

Ripple current tolerance capability

Excessive ripple current can cause capacitors to heat up and shorten their lifespan, so it is necessary to choose models with strong ripple current tolerance.

3、 Packaging and layout requirements

Package size selection

Choose appropriate packaging based on the space of the circuit board (such as 0402, 0603, 0805, etc.), 

and choose small sizes such as 5 × 5.4mm for compact design.

Layout optimization

To avoid heat concentration and signal interference, it is necessary to evenly distribute the capacitance 

and consider the heat dissipation path.

4、 Special scenario selection suggestions

High frequency circuit: Priority should be given to high-frequency low impedance series (such as FVZ, FVR series).

High voltage application: Choose high voltage long-life models (such as FVD series).

Portable devices: Low voltage (6.3V/10V) and small packaged capacitors are more suitable.

Leakage current control: The leakage current increases with temperature and voltage, and needs to be 

evaluated according to the formula I=K × CV.
