Targeting the automotive small motor market under 20W: Infineon launches TLE9932 and TLE9934 ALL-IN-ONE chips

Recently, Infineon officially launched two new products, TLE9932EVW40C and TLE9934EVW40L, on its official website. Both chips are ALL-IN-ONE solutions that integrate MCU, power module, three-phase full bridge driver and MOSFET, three-phase current sampling circuit, and LIN physical layer. Compared to the previously launched TLE9954QSW40-33, these two new products are primarily targeted at ultra-low power automotive motor applications, with peak currents below 2A, and can be widely used in actuators such as air conditioning vents, water valves, air intake grilles, and charging port covers.

The two chips introduced this time have just been launched and currently, public information is still limited. Among them, the TLE9932EVW40C has a smaller memory capacity and is mainly suitable for applications requiring LIN automatic addressing functionality, such as air conditioning vents. On the other hand, the TLE9934EVW40L is equipped with a larger memory capacity and does not support LIN automatic addressing, making it more suitable for actuators such as air intake grilles, water valves, and charging port covers. A brief comparison of the two chips is summarized in the table below.

The package outline is shown in the figure below. The accompanying evaluation board TLE993X EVALKIT is also shown in the figure, and the overall peripheral circuit design is relatively compact.

I look forward to receiving more detailed information about this series of products in the future.

In conclusion: For a long time, the market for ultra-small motor applications in vehicles priced under 200,000 yuan has been predominantly dominated by manufacturers such as Melexis, TDK, and Elmos. Driven by the trend of vehicle electrification and intelligence, this market demand is experiencing rapid growth. Whether it's various water valve controls in thermal management systems or multiple actuator applications related to comfort, they are all showing a rapid development trend. In response to this trend, Infineon began laying the groundwork for this product series several years ago and plans to officially launch it onto the market this year. As a result, Infineon's MOTIX series product line has become increasingly rich and comprehensive (excluding stepper motor drives). Meanwhile, many domestic manufacturers have already gained a competitive edge in different applications within this niche market. The future market competition is bound to be fierce, and solid and comprehensive products, a well-established service system, and competitive pricing will increasingly become the key to success. Let's wait and see.
